We hope that you enjoyed the 2024 Spring Jamboree here in beautiful Boulder City, Nevada.
The Spring Jamboree, which has been held since 1977, is considered by many to be Boulder City's first major public festival of the year. We had the pleasure of interviewing a cross-section of artisans, board members, and volunteer associations that help to make this public festival the success that it is.
Our guest on this segment of The Best Dam Podcast is Professor George Rhee, Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and climate advocate, with Boulder City Climate Action.
Approximately ten years ago, recognizing the urgent need for action on climate change, Professor Rhee shifted his focus to this critical issue. In addition to transforming his teaching and research to address climate concerns, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Utility Advisory Committee in Boulder City. This citizens committee, which convenes quarterly in council chambers, works to guide the community on sustainable and responsible utility management.
